Neither Here Nor There
In a bid of reaching a better life, hundreds of Moroccan kids sneak every day into Melilla, a Spanish enclave in the north of Morocco. These minors normally live as homeless. Most of them refuse to be located in state-run shelters due to the mounting complaints of abuse occurring in these centers. This story is about Said, a Moroccan deaf boy stuck in this Spanish portion of Africa. Awed by the ephemeral sense of prosperity that Europe transmits, he tries to jump as a stowaway into one of the many boats that connect Melilla and the Spanish peninsula with the goal of encountering a brother living in Germany.
